About Exam

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is conducted every year by Karnataka Examinations Authority for admission to Engineering, Pharma and Agricultural Science courses in various Government, Private Aided and Private un-aided institutions in Karnataka.

Syllabus: 

  • KCET 2021 will be based on Class 11th and 12th curriculum/ I and II PUC syllabus as prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka state.

Pattern of examination:

  • There will be 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each.
  • The question papers will be either in Kannada language or in both Kannada and English languages.
  • The exam will be held on two days in four different sessions for the following four subjects – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Duration: 

  • Each paper will be for one hour twenty minutes.

Additional Information

Eligibility:

 B.Tech courses:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India and must have passed 2nd PUC/Class 12/equivalent examination with Physics, English and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
  • The candidate must have any one optional subjects out of Biology/Chemistry/Bio-Technology/ Electronics/Computer Science.
  • General category candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% in aggregate and reserved category candidates must have secured 40% marks in aggregate.
  1. Pharm course:
  • Candidates must have qualified 2nd PUC or class 12th examination with PCM or PCB.
  • General category candidates must have secured 45% in aggregate while reserved category candidates should secure 40% to apply for KCET 2021

or

  • Candidates must have passed a Diploma in Pharmacy from a government approved institute.

 B.Sc. Hons. Agriculture:

  • Candidates should have passed in 2nd PUC/Class 12th/equivalent exam from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Biology as an optional subject.
